६ कवि शहर की तलाश में
| १९९० के दशक के मध्य में कुछ मित्रों ने अपने को एक साथ पाया. ये अलग अलग जगहों से महानगर आए थे. अलग अलग जातियों-समुदायों के थे. कुछ समय बाद इनका जीवन फिर से अलग अलग रास्तों पर चल पड़ना था. देवयानी जो एक हिन्दी-राजस्थानी लेखक की बेटी थी उसे कविता लिखते लिखते पत्रकारिता, प्रेम, गृहस्थी, अनुवाद, शोध की ओर चले जाना था. ग्रुप के ‘आलोचक’ मनोज कुमार मीणा को बहुत सोच-विचार के बाद भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा में चले जाना था. प्रमोद को शिक्षा और बच्चों के अपने काम में अधिक डूब जाना था. विशाल कपूर को इतिहास की पढ़ाई पूरी करके गाइड बन जाना था. शिवकुमार गाँधी को एक पेंटर के रूप में विख्यात होना था. और पूरावक्ती कवि प्रभात को भी और बहुत कुछ करना था. जिन वर्षों में ये मित्र एक शहर में एक साथ रहे इन सबको हिन्दी में कविता लिखना था. (कविता सभी अपने अपने अंतरालों में अब भी और लगातार लिखतेरहे हैं) और जीने की शैलियों के घनघोर प्रयोग करने थे. वे प्रकाशन और चर्चा के रोज़मर्रा से परे अपने ढंग से लिख रहे थे और बहुत जिम्मेदारी भरा कविकर्म कर रहे थे. हमें खुशी है ये हमारे बहकावे में आ गए.यूँ दो और भी थे इस ग्रुप में, हिमांशु पंड्या जिन्हें जे.एन.यू से पढ़ाई करके हिन्दी पढ़ाना था और संस्कृति कर्मी/आलोचक बनना था और विश्वंभर जिन्हें हिन्दी में शिक्षा की सबसे महत्त्वपूर्ण पत्रिकाओं में से एक का यशस्वी संपादक होना था.

A group of people, who would come to be friends, found themselves together in the mid-1990s. They had come to the city from different places. In time, their lives would once again take different paths. Devyani, the daughter of a Hindi/Rajasthani writer, would go from writing poetry to journalism, love, family, translation and research. The ‘critic’ of the group, Manoj Kumar Meena, would, after much thought, go into the Administrative Services. Pramod would go deeper into the field of education and working with children. Vishal Kapoor would complete his studies in History and become a guide. Shivkumar Gandhi would earn his name as a painter. And full-time poet Prabhat, too, would have much to do. But the years they were together in Jaipur, they all wrote poetry, in Hindi. (All of them still do). And indulged in experiments in living. Mostly, staying away from publication and discussion, they created poetry in their own way. We are glad we could convince them to present their work in Pratilipi.There were two others in the group, Himanshu Pandya who would go to JNU and later become known as a critic and cultural activist; and Vishvambhar who would go on to edit one of the most significant Hindi publications on education. |
