पूर्णेंदु घोष / Purnendu Ghosh
Dr. Purnendu Ghosh is Executive Director of Birla Institute of Scientific Research, Jaipur. Prior to this assignment, he was Professor at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and also worked as Scientist at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, Switzerland; University of Melbourne, Australia; National Research Centre for Biotechnology (GBF), Braunschweig, Germany. Dr. Ghosh is involved with the planning and execution of a number of teaching and research programmes, and also with establishing modern laboratory facilities at several institutes in the country. He is member of various scientific committees constituted by Government of India. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and has been conferred the Distinguished Professorship award of AICTE-INAE.
Dr. Ghosh spent his formative years at Kanpur learning the nuances of life through family, friends, and films. Dr. Ghosh, in his various avatars, has delved into the science of life and now, through his writings, he forays beyond science. Dr. Ghosh writes a column for a well known newspaper group.
