Shirish Kumar Mourya teaches Hindi at Kumaon University’s Nainital campus.

His poetry has appeared in all major Hindi journals. His first collection of poems “Pahla Kadam” was published in 1994, the second in 2004 and a third is due to appear in 2009. His translation of Yahuda Amichai’s poetry, “Dharti Jaanti Hai” was published in 2006 and his translation of Ku Sang’s poems, in 2007.  He was the first recipient of the Ankur Mishra Smruti Puraskar in 2004.

His drawings have appeared in Pahal, Aajkal, Kathyaroop, Uttar Pradesh, Phada, Kal, etc.
