प्रति-कल्पना / Counter-Imagination
दलित लेखन ने मुख्यधारा लेखन में परिकल्पित (इमेजिंड) के समांतर, अक़्सर उसके विरुद्ध, एक नया गाँव रचा है. उसके बारे में यह कहा जा सकता है कि वह भी उतना ही इमेजिंड है लेकिन उसने “गाँव” के आशयों में एक ऐसा विचलन घटित किया है कि बिना उसकी प्रति-कल्पना की सन्निधि के गाँव की कोई गाथा अब पूरी नहीं हो पायेगी. इसके साक्ष्य सुभाष नीरव और घनश्याम रंजन के हिन्दी अनुवादों में देसराज काली, भगवंत रसूलपुरी और मक्खन मान की पंजाबी कहानियों और मीना कंदसामी के अंग्रेज़ी अनुवाद में रविकुमार की तमिल कविताओं में पढ़े जा सकते हैं.
Dalit writing has often created a new village counter to the one imagined in mainstream writing. It could be said that that too is, to the same extent, imagined – but it has occasioned such a destabilization in the significations of ‘village’ that, without facing up to this counter-imagination, no story of the village can be complete. As proof of this, read the Punjabi stories by Desraj Kali, Bhagwant Rasoolpuri and Makhan Mann (in Subhash Neerav and Ghanshyam Ranjan’s Hindi translations), as well as Meena Kandasamy’s translations of Ravikumar’s Tamil poems.
