Ravikumar (1960) is the Kattumannarkovil MLA and General Secretary of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (Liberation Panthers Party). The foremost activist-theoretician of the Dalit movement, a translation of his political essays, Venomous Touch was published by Samya in 2009. He has authored two collections of poetry Avizhum Sorkal (Untied Words) and Mazhaimaram (Raintree).
