ओपन डिबेट में हर बार एक या अधिक ऐसे पाठ होंगे जिन पर हम पाठकों की प्रतिक्रियाएँ आमंत्रित और प्रकाशित करेंगे। इसकी शुरूआत हम जिन दो मज़मूनों से कर रहे हैं उनमें से पहला है डी. वेंकट राव का एनाक्रॉनिस्टिक रिफ्लेक्शन्सः ऑव् क्रिटिकल ह्यूमेनिटीज । ज्ञान के आधुनिक/औपनिवेशिक केन्द्र के रूप में ‘यूनिवर्सिटी’ और उसकी दार्शनिक बुनियाद ‘मानववाद’ पर शंका करता हुआ यह निबंध ‘जाति’ पर कथित ‘नेटिव’ प्रतिकथन भी करता है। यूनिवर्सिटी, मानववाद जैसे प्रत्ययों के अतिरिक्त उत्तर-औपनिवेशिक बुद्धिजीवन की कथित छलना/असफलता भी निबंध के निशाने पर है।
दूसरा है हिंदी के आधुनिक महाकवि निराला के उत्तराधिकार पर व्योमेश शुक्ल का निबंध. हिंदी में साहित्यिक उत्तराधिकार बहुत पेचीदा और विवादस्पद मसला रहा है. व्योमेश का निबंध भी, अपनी तरह से, निराला के उत्तराधिकार को लेकर विवाद-सक्षम है. दोनों मज़मूनों पर लिखित प्रतिक्रियाएँ आमंत्रित हैं। प्रतिलिपि इस श्रृंखला में प्रकाशित किसी पाठ की, पत्रिका की समस्त सामग्री की ही तरह, प्रवक्ता नहीं है। हम अलोकप्रिय होने का खतरा उठाने और पोलिटिकली करेक्ट मुहावरे से बाहर जा के बोलने के साहस की तारीफ़ जरूर कर सकते हैं और करते हैं। |
Open Debate is a new feature wherein we will present one or more texts on which we will invite and publish responses from our readers. We start with two pieces. The first is D. Venkat Rao’s Anachronistic Reflections: Of Critical Humanities. Problematizing the University as a colonial/modern center of knowledge, the piece also takes a supposedly ‘native’ position on a phenomenon like caste.
The other is an essay by Vyomesh Shukla on the great, modern, Hindi poet Nirala. The question of legacy, especially in Hindi Literature, is a very complex and controversial issue. Vyomesh’s essay, in its own way, adds to the debate about Nirala’s legacy. We invite responses from our readers on both texts. Like every other text in the magazine, the texts presented here do not necessarily represent Pratilipi’s views. We do, however, applaud the courage of authors who take the risk of speaking in an idiom that may not be politically correct, or the risk of becoming unpopular.
