लोक-प्रिय में इस बार का खास आकर्षण है शरतचंद्र के मिथकीय उपन्यास देवदास का हिन्दी अनुवाद में एक अंश। मूल बांग्ला से यह ताज़ा अनुवाद चर्चित युवा हिन्दी कथाकार कुणाल सिंह कर रहे हैं और उन्होंने जहाँ तहाँ कुछ सृजनात्मक रूपान्तरण भी किया है।
इसके अतिरक्त है भूतनाथ की कहानी सावन आये या ना आये जिसमें बनारस हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय का समकालीन परिसर ययाति और पुरुरवा, देवयानी और शर्मिष्ठा की पौराणिक-मिथकीय छायाओं से घिर जाता है और फिल्म अभिनेता, गीतकार, संगीतकार और स्क्रीन राईटर पीयूष मिश्रा से वरूण ग्रोवर की बातचीत खुद उन्हीं के अंग्रेज़ी अनुवाद में. |
The main attraction of this edition of Lok-priy is an excerpt from a new translation of Sharat Chandra’s iconic novel Devdas by the young Hindi writer Kunal Singh.
Besides this, we also have the story Saavan Aaye ya na Aaye by Bhootnath, in which the shades of the mythic characters Yayati, Pururava, Devyani and Sharmishtha gather in the contemporary campus of Benaras Hindu University, and Varun’s interview (translated into English) with actor/screenwriter/lyricist/music-director Piyush Mishra.
