आधुनिक मनुष्य की स्वतंत्रता संभवतः राष्ट्र राज्य के साथ उसके इस अलिखित अनुबंध से परिभाषित की जा सकती है: तुम मुझे कुछ स्वतंत्रताएं दो, मैं तुम्हारे विरोध में खड़ा नहीं होऊंगा. नागरिक स्वतंत्रता को, अपनी सीमाओं के भीतर और उनके परे, सुरक्षित रखने में उदार लोकतंत्रों की सतत विश्वव्यापी असफलता ने क्या उस अनुबंध को तोड़ दिया है? वर्तमान अंक, और ख़ासकर तृषा गुप्ता द्वारा संयोजित इसकी शीर्ष कथा राष्ट्र राज्य की इस वादाखिलाफ़ी के असर की अभिव्यक्ति को विभिन्न भाषाओं के मूल और अनूदित लेखन में खोजने का यत्न करते हैं.
अंक की बाकी सामग्री में बच्चों द्वारा और बच्चों के लिए लेखन और तीन महान आधुनिक लेखकों अज्ञेय, नैयर मसूद और श्रीलाल शुक्ल पर फीचर; डेनिश मूल के द्विभाषी कवि क्लाउस एन्करसन पर एक फोकस; दस युवा हिंदी लेखकों की नयी रचनाएँ, यथार्थवाद और तुलनात्मक साहित्य पर ओपन डिबेट के लिए प्रस्तुत सत्य पी. मोहंती का एक साक्षात्कार और आलोक भल्ला के अंग्रेजी अनुवाद में कृष्ण बलदेव वैद के एक नाटक का सम्पूर्ण पाठ शामिल है. अंक में कुल मिलाकर १२ भाषाओँ के ७० से अधिक लेखकों का काम शामिल.

प्रतिलिपि को शुरू हुए अब लगभग पाँच बरस हो गये हैं. हम दुनिया भर में फैले अपने पाठकों, आलोचकों और मित्रों के दिल से शुक्रगुज़ार हैं उनके सहयोग और प्रोत्साहन के लिए. हम अपने भाषा परामर्शकों के भी बेहद शुक्रगुज़ार हैं जिनके बिना प्रतिलिपि को एक वैविध्यपूर्ण, बहु-भाषी साहित्यिक स्पेस बना पाना नामुमकिन होता.

A Lost Wager?
Freedom in modern times is perhaps defined by an individual’s unwritten agreement with the nation state: you give me certain kind of freedoms; I’ll not act against you. Has that wager been lost finally with the liberal democracies in east and west, failing consistently in ensuring civil liberties, at home and away? The present issue, and most prominently its lead feature, put together by Trisha Gupta, explores the impact of this breach of promise as expressed in original and translated writing from Bangla, English, Hindi, Tamil and Urdu.
Other things in the issue include features on writing by and for children; on three modern Indian greats Ajneya, Naiyer Masud and Shrilal Shukla; a focus on bilingual Danish poet Claus Ankersen; fresh work by ten young Hindi writers, a text for open debate on realism and comparative literature and the full text of a Krishna Baldev Vaid play in Alok Bhalla’s English translation. In all, the issue features more than 70 writers from 12 languages.

र्इ को ई में आसानी से बदल सकते हैं, इकट्ठे हर जगह पर। नोटपैड में किसी पाठ को लेकर Edit→Replace में जाकर Replace all करके।
ज़रूर आप किसी पुराने फोंट में काम करते हैं। जिसमें ई लिखने के लिए इ के ऊपर रेफ लगा दिया जाता होगा। जबकि यूनिकोड में अक्षर उसी तरह जुड़ते हैं जिस तरह उन्हें समझा जाता है। और हल् के आगे स्वर या मात्रा लगाने का कोई मतलब नहीं निकलता।
