Ulrike Stark is Professor at the Department of South Asian Languages and Civilizations, University of Chicago. Her research focuses on Hindi literature, print culture and book history in South Asia, and north Indian intellectual history in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. She is the editor of Mauern und Fenster (2006), a collection of contemporary Hindi short stories in German translation.
