प्रेमचंद गाँधी / Prem Chand Gandhi

Born 1967, Prem Chand Gandhi is a Hindi poet, playwright, translator and columnist. He has published a book of poetry, “Is Symphony Mein” and a book of essays “Sanskriti ka Samkaal”. His plays include “Sita Nahin” (a feminist rendering from Ramayana), “Mahakavi” (based on medieval poet Bihari’s life), “Ek Anoothee Prem Kahani” (adaptation of Hari Shankar Parsai’s novel “Rani Nagaphani”) and “Roshni kee Awaaz”. Over the years, he has been a popular columnist for various news papers in Rajasthan and is most widely known for his serialized travelogues for Rajasthan Patrika written during his two Pakistan visits.

His awards include Gokul Chandra Rao Samman (non-fiction), Rajendra Bohra Smruti Sammna 2006 and Lakshman Prasad Mandaloi Smruti Samman 2007 (poetry).

He is the General Secretary of the Progressive Writers’ Association of India’s Rajasthan unit. Lives in Jaipur.
