मोनिका मोदी / Monica Mody
Monica Mody’s poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in The Little Magazine (TLM), Nthposition, Midway Journal, Kritya: A Journal of Poetry, Sheher: Urban Poetry by Indian Women, Talking Poetry and Women. Period. She ran a multilingual poetry in performance series in Delhi called Open Baithak in 2007-08. She was a Zora Neale Hurston Scholar at the 2007 Summer Writing Program at Naropa University, and was awarded the Toto Funds the Arts Award for Creative Writing in 2006.
Monica grew up in Ranchi and is a lawyer by training. She has worked with the human rights organization Breakthrough and freelanced as an editor and writer. She currently attends the University of Notre Dame’s M.F.A. Creative Writing Program as a poetry fellow.
