लाल सिंह दिल / Lal Singh Dil

Lal Singh Dil (1943-2007) is often described as a poet’s poet of Punjabi literature. Born in a low-caste Ramdasia Chamar family, his was a life of immense struggle as his story stands witness to the deep-rooted human discrimination in the name of caste. His 4 books of poetry, Nag Lok, Satluj di Hava, Bahut Saare Suraj, and Sathar, and his autobiography, Dastaan, are regarded as classics of Punjabi literature.
