Eva Liina Asu-Garcia is from Tartu, Estonia, where she studied English and Swedish language and literature. She holds an M.Phil in Applied Linguistics and a PhD in Linguistics, both from the University of Cambridge. She has worked as a university lecturer and researcher in linguistics, and as a pronunciation linguist at the BBC in London. Recently, she returned to her hometown to continue her academic career at the University of Tartu. She also works as a freelance translator.
