D. Venkat Rao teaches in the Department of English Literature at the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad. His areas of interests are: Cultures of Memory, Sanskrit Reflective Traditions, and Visual cultures. His most recent publication is a translation of a Telugu intellectual autiobiography called The Last Brahmin (Permanent Black, 2007).
