Born 1960, in Kadipur, Uttar Pradesh, writer and editor Akhilesh has published three collections of short fiction – Aadmi Nahin Tootata, Mukti and Shaapgrast – one novel, Anveshan, and a book on the Hindi novelist Shrilal Shukla. He also writes scripts and screenplays for TV. He edits and publishes a literary quarterly Tadbhav from Lucknow.

His awards include the Shrikant Verma Award, Banmali Award, Parimal Samman and the Indu Sharma Fiction Prize of Katha (U.K.).

  1. Hello.. I chanced upon your website while searching for a story called श्रृंखला written by Akhilesh. I am not sure if I got who I am searching for. I don’t know if this profile is for the same writer, or a different writer of the same name. The only way to find is to ask here… So, may I ask if you are same writer Akhilesh, who had written this story called श्रृंखला?
