बावजूद इसके कि भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप में अधिकांश बच्चों का बचपन एक दुस्स्वप्न की तरह बीतता है और बच्चों की कल्पना को बहुत दूर तक वयस्क नियंत्रण गढता है, यहाँ प्रकाशित सवाई माधोपुर के इन बच्चों जिनमें जनजातीय बच्चे भी शामिल हैं, की कविताएँ उस आज़ादी की एक झलक देती हैं जो इसके बावजूद उनके संसार को निर्मित करती है. बच्चों के लियी लिखी गयी मुशर्रफ़ अली फ़ारूक़ी और प्रभात की कहानियों में हम यह लक्ष्य कर सकते हैं बच्चों के लिए वयस्कों द्वारा लिखा गया किस तरह लेखक के अपने बचपन का तो पुनर्सर्जन होता ही है उस अनंत आज़ाद बचपन का भी जो सब बच्चों का हक़ होना चाहिए लेकिन हासिल बहुत कम को है.

Despite being the nightmare which it is for a majority of children in South Asia and the adult surveillance which shapes it; these poems by children, mostly from the Meena tribe in Sawai Madhopur, are full of the free imagination that forms their private universe. Other than recreating the authors’ own childhood in a way, the stories by Musharraf Ali Farooqi and Prabhat also portray the infinitely free childhood that ought to be a universal right, but remains a distant dream for most children.
